Recipe: Blue Cheese Chix

Main Ingredients:
  • 1 kg chicken drumsticks
  • 1 can/330 ml light beer
  • 3 tsbp chili sauce
  • 2 tsp Maggi Magic Sarap
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Sauce Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup Nestle Creamy Yogurt
  • 3 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp Maggi Magic Sarap
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar

Blue Cheese Dip Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup Nestle Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Nestle Sour Cream
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • Maggi Magic Sarap, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste


Procedure:
  1. Preheat oven to 425F. 
  2.  In a bowl, whisk beer, chili sauce, maggi magic sarap, black pepper and cinnamon together. Add in the chicken drumsticks and cover. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  3. To make the sauce, whisk all ingredients together in a bowl except for cayenne pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. To make blue cheese dip, combine all ingredients and mix until fully incorporated. Transfer to a food processor and puree. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  5. Coat a baking sheet with oil. Remove the drumsticks from marinade and pat dry. Place them on the baking sheet in a single layer. Use 1/4 cup of the sauce and brush some over each drumstick. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Turn the drumsticks over using a tong and brush some more of the sauce. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper and return to oven. Continue baking until all drumsticks are brown, crisp and cooked through, about 15 minutes or more.
  7. Optional: Brush drumsticks with reserved sauce and broil until browned.
  8. Serve immediately with blue cheese dip.
